OUR STORY

SJQ has been operating as an independent grassroots music venue since February 2011, and has since established itself as one of the capital’s most highly respected small venues and a well loved and valued haven for our local East-London community. As one of the first music venues in the area, we have been instrumental in making Dalston a key UK destination for music-audiences, becoming known as a central London hub which nurtures & promotes both local, national and international artists.

We are a community-focused venue and take pride in providing a safe, friendly and bespoke space for artists and audience alike. We have become a popular industry choice for a wide range of emerging talent as well as established artists, offering independent promoters and artists a space to experiment and connect with their audiences in an intimate setting. Our unique, open and diverse music policy is reflected in our programme, which ranges from pop, rock, folk, classical, jazz to electronica, rnb, hip hop & beyond.
